Decision Intensive

Try something new or strengthen what’s already working?

For nonprofit leaders and boards who feel stuck on an important revenue decision.

Perhaps you’re considering a new fundraising initiative, rethinking an established event, exploring sponsorship or earned revenue, or deciding whether an existing program still deserves the time and resources it requires.

I designed this engagement to help you work through those choices. Together, we examine what’s working, what could change and what a new approach would demand so you can decide whether to stay the course, make adjustments or pursue something different.

Your engagement includes:

  • An initial consultation to define the revenue decision and the questions you need answered.

  • Review of up to 40 pages of relevant financial summaries, fundraising results, plans and background materials.

  • Up to three stakeholder interviews to understand priorities, concerns and organizational capacity.

  • A three-hour virtual workshop to assess up to three options, including continuing the current approach.

  • A written decision brief comparing revenue potential, costs, staff and volunteer demands, risks and alignment with your mission with a recommendation and clear reasons behind it.

  • A 90-day action roadmap outlining next steps, responsibilities and checkpoints.

  • A one-hour follow-up meeting and one consolidated revision.

You’ll leave with a clear recommendation about where to focus your revenue efforts and a practical plan for moving forward.

Typical timeline: three to four weeks.

This is a facilitated advisory engagement focused on one significant revenue decision, with analysis and recommendations specific to your organization. Implementation, extensive external research and specialist legal or financial advice are scoped separately.

Fundraising Review

Understand what’s working. Strengthen where it matters.

For nonprofits that are already fundraising but want a clearer picture of their results and where to focus next.

Perhaps revenue has plateaued, your team is stretched, or you’re unsure whether your fundraising activities justify the time and resources they require. This review brings an experienced outside perspective to your existing approach, helping you identify strengths, gaps and practical opportunities for improvement.

I assess your revenue streams, such as individual giving, grants, sponsorship, recurring donations or fundraising events. Together, we look beyond total dollars raised to consider costs, staff and volunteer capacity, donor relationships and opportunities for sustainable growth.

Your engagement includes:

  • An initial consultation to understand your goals, concerns and current fundraising approach.

  • Review of 12 months of aggregate fundraising results supporting materials, such as fundraising plans, budgets, appeals and sponsorship packages.

  • Staff interviews to understand how the work happens, what’s challenging and where capacity is stretched.

  • A written assessment of the selected revenue streams, highlighting performance, strengths, gaps and risks.

  • Prioritized recommendations identifying what to continue, improve, simplify or reconsider.

  • A practical 90-day improvement plan with recommended actions, responsibilities and measures of progress.

  • A findings and recommendations meeting, with one consolidated revision.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your fundraising performance and a manageable plan for strengthening it.

Typical timeline: three to four weeks.

This engagement requires usable fundraising records and covers assessment and recommendations for your existing activity. Donor solicitation, grant writing, database cleanup and campaign delivery are outside the scope. Applicable taxes are additional. Fundraising results cannot be guaranteed.

12-Month Fundraising Strategy & Implementation

A clear revenue strategy. Experienced support to put it into action.

For nonprofits that want a coordinated approach to fundraising and an experienced partner to help lead the work throughout the year.

I work with your leadership and fundraising team to establish realistic revenue goals, choose priorities and build a practical strategy around your donors, opportunities and organizational capacity. Then I stay involved to guide implementation, monitor progress and adjust the approach as the year unfolds.

Your engagement includes:

  • Review of your current fundraising activity, financial results, donor engagement and available resources.

  • Conversations with key staff and leadership to understand priorities, challenges and opportunities.

  • A 12-month fundraising strategy with revenue targets, priority audiences and recommended approaches.

  • An integrated calendar covering agreed campaigns, appeals, sponsorship activity, stewardship and events.

  • An implementation plan defining activities, responsibilities, timelines and resource requirements.

  • Ongoing planning meetings, progress reviews and hands-on support for agreed fundraising priorities.

  • A practical performance dashboard and quarterly adjustments based on results and emerging opportunities.

  • A year-end review with recommendations for the following year.

You’ll have a clear plan, defined responsibilities and consistent support to keep your fundraising efforts moving forward.

An initial strategy phase is followed by implementation support over an agreed 12-month term.

Each proposal defines the revenue streams, deliverables, meeting schedule and level of hands-on support. Your organization provides a designated decision-maker, access to relevant records and staff capacity for agreed responsibilities. Grant writing, donor solicitation, database administration and event production are included only when expressly scoped. Applicable taxes and approved external costs are additional.
